Homer Charter Association Meeting 2/7/07

The Homer Charter Association will hold a general meeting on February 7th, 2007 at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held at the Homer Chamber of Commerce. We will start a little earlier so we don’t run so late. Remind other members and those interested in our issues about this meeting, we have new issues to deal with. Make your views known.
Thanks, Gary

Some Members of the ACA would now come to the HCA save the perceived hypocracy. Should we invite them with the stipulation that they not be informers? They wanted in the industry and they got that but the situation is different than it was prior to Dec.9,2005 and the ACA is no longer relevant. All but the most naive know they aren't going to stop bycatch in time to save us or beat up a commercial industry that is more experienced and our hope does lie in limited entry. - Mark

I agree Mark. The north council has a moratorium on its plate and that is what we need to push. Fighting the system is never a noble fight if you have nothing to lose. We have everything to lose and we need to start taking care of our selves. As far as the meeting goes it should be open to everyone with a stake in the business. I just don't want a shouting match. Okay. I've been talking with one of ACA's outspoken advocates and told him what I believe the HCA's stance to be (close to my stance but not quite as ardent). He said he's going to come and bring others that will consider getting on our team. I made it eminently clear that disruptions will not be tolerated and spies were not allowed. I was told that they have nothing to do with Bruce Warner's efforts, in fact he, more or less, commandeered their lawyer and got Doug and some 14 others to throw in a grand each. How noble. Efforts will undoutedly be made to procure more funds - I just finished a fight to get my kids back and it cost over twenty, a pissed lawyer, and another scorned ex. And they were MY kids. Imagine the cost of trying to take someone else's fish!
